FRAGMENTED LIGHT
The body of work “Fragmented Light" consists of original photographic material printed as platinotypes, a 19th century photographic process that uses noble metals platinum and palladium-rendered on rare hand-made Gampi paper crafted in Japan. “Fragmented Light” references time – elapsed, logical, linear time- and time of the heart and emotions. Inspired by the sacred site of Keramicos, the platinotypes on transluscent delicate paper are fragile memory traces; they combine the technology of digital negatives with the beauty and archival value of the platinotype process.
